Marriott Grand Hotel, 26/1, Tverskaya St., Moscow
Finance sector and investment institutions are key drivers for shaping the economy of sustainable development and the fulfillment of the most important humanitarian, social and environmental objectives, both within the framework of the strategic goals of Russia and for the UN Agenda 2030 (Sustainable Development Goals).

Over the past decade, environmental and social responsibility standards have become firmly established in business practice of financial and investment organizations in developed countries. The topic has gained momentum in Russia: in the Ministry of Industry and Trade there is a decree on subsidizing interest rates on green bonds at the negotiation stage; an expert working group on responsible investment of the Bank of Russia was established and actively operates, the green section is planned to be launched on the Moscow Exchange, etc. The National Network of the Global Compact in Russia is launching a program to promote responsible finance and investment practices on the basis of the UN GC action platform "Financial Innovations for the SDGs".

In December 2018, an inportant event took place in Russia: the first green bonds in the history of the country were listed on the Moscow Stock Exchange, the passport of the national project Ecology was approved in January 2019, and the Presidential Decree on the creation of the public environmental company "Russian Ecological Operator" was issued.

Russia realized all global trends. Is Russia ready? Or delayed at the start? What are the expectations of market participants, the positions of regulators and what main tools can be applied in practice today (both world and already existing Russian ones)?
