The sustainable development day as part of the Summer Campus in Kazan is devoted to the Youth Contest ‘Impact of Business. Local Solutions to Global Problems’ conducted by the Russian Global Compact Local Network and SUMAS Sustainability Management School.
Summer Campus is an annual international educational project for young people, whose training program consists of lectures and interactive sessions with leading Russian and foreign scientists, state officials and world-class businessmen. This project was created at the initiative of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan. The mission of the Campus is creating a platform for communication of young talented people and forming a new generation of intellectual elite.
The program of the Campus includes not only educational program, but also a wide range of entertainment activities, including a sightseeing tour to Kazan and nearby, different games and creativity competitions.
The sustainable development day, now in its second year, is arranged together with the Russian Global Compact Local Network.
In 2018 the day is devoted to discussion of the role that business plays in achieving the sustainable development goals. The participants will learn how to create projects and elaborate business initiatives addressing global problems with the support of experts which will help them to enhance knowledge and acquire practical skills of strategic approach to SDGs.
Among the experts of the sustainable development day are: Ivana Modena (the founder and President of Sustainability Management School (SUMAS), Inga Trofimova (Social Innovation Manager, Deloitte), Vera Dadasheva (Co-founder, Singularity University Moscow Chapter), Olga Luchina (Manager Sustainability & Volunteering, Philip Morris International), Elena Korotkova (Head of ESG, Investor Relations Department, JSC “Several Management”), Daria Goncharova (Chief Sustainability Officer Polymetal), Maxim Kochetkov (ESG & SRI expert).
The program includes plenary discussion with experts concerning the real business practice of the companies which declared their commitment to SDGs, session of questions and answers in the form of intellectual quiz, team quiz-hackathon – team work on projects which invite opportunities for business transformation for achieving SDGs, expert lectures and live communication.
The participants could further get in touch with the Russian Global Compact Local Network joining the Volunteer Corps of GC Russia, taking part in the Youth Contest ‘Impact of Business. Local Solutions to Global Problems’ or other GC Russia projects.
