Planning and implementation will be carried out by the consultancy Schlange & Co. (S&C), Hamburg, and Yale University, New Haven, CT. The project is financed by the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany (Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety).

The Global Survey targets private individuals and representatives of politics, business, academia, the media and civil society both on a national and international level. The aim is to prioritize relevant topics relating to the environment, social issues and the economy in the respective countries and to establish the urgency for action. In addition, the performance of the institutions in each country will be assessed.

Objectives

−     Reaching out to as many individuals and professionals in the world as possible in order to establish the status on understanding of sustainability and knowledge of the SDGs.

−     Defining sustainability priorities for each country and sector.

−     Evaluating the performance of companies, politics, academia and civil society in each country.

The findings will be presented on the website to UN organizations, national governments, industry associations, academia and NGOs in order for them to draw conclusions on how to improve . The idea is to repeat this exercise regularly to measure progress.

Collaboration Opportunity

Organizations are welcome to assist as “Multipliers”, who invite member organizations (e.g. companies, NGO’s, associations, etc.), employees, etc. via mailings and/or social media channels to participate.
