Transforming Business, Changing the World

This title is chosen by Georg Kell, the first Executive Director of the United Nations Global Compact for his innovative report.

Georg Kell is one of the founders of the global initiative, whom the success of the project development belongs to – from the concept to a working extensive network of more than 13 000 participants representing 161 countries. After 25 years of service to the United Nations, on August 31st Mr. Kell left his post due to retirement but staying one of the most competent and internationally recognized experts on sustainable development.

Georg Kell presented the report “IMPACT. Transforming Business, Changing the World» in June 2015 at the United Nations Headquarters during the events dedicated to the 70th Anniversary of the United Nations and the 15th Anniversary of the Global Compact’s founding under the name “Global Compact +15: business as a force for good”.

This is one of the most comprehensive, analytical studies in the field of corporate sustainability and responsibility, the work of a group of international experts and analysts. The report covers the history of modern progress in the field of corporate sustainability and responsibility, highlights the major role of the Global Compact as a driver of these processes as well as contains recommendations on how to achieve the vision of a sustainable and inclusive global economy.

The study provides expert evaluation of such areas, platforms and initiatives as a change in corporate practices, Global Compact LEAD, the CEO water mandate, Caring for climate initiative, change in the corporate working environment, Principles for responsible investment, Principles for responsible management education, the Women’s empowerment principles, the Children’s rights and business principles, joint action against corruption and many others.
