A Polish town of Katowice has become an international climate capital on 2 to 14 December 2018: it hosted the 24th conference of the parties to the UN Climate Change Framework Convention (COP24). Key issues of this round of negotiations are methodological, technological and financial aspects of current cooperation of the Parties to the Convention/Kyoto Protocol, and also forming institutional and procedure mechanisms of enforcing Paris Agreement.
On November 28, 2018 at the open session of the International Forum ‘Corporate Volunteering: Business and Society’ National Council on Corporate Volunteering and the UN Global Compact Network Russia signed an Agreement on Cooperation regarding development of volunteering for the SDGs.
On 15 November 2018, on the base of ACIG GC there took place a discussion session ‘Sustainable Development. Role of Russia’, which was devoted to presentation and discussion of conclusions of topical research projects, related to the issue of business involvement into the achieving of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
On November 7-8 2018, in Cairo, Egypt, there took place the Fifth Annual Forum ‘Business for Peace’, which brought together private sector, civil society, government officials and the UN representatives under the aegis of the GC Local Network Egypt, for the sake of common goal to exchange experience and search for systemic solutions for business in the area of humanitarian action and peacemaking.
