BUSINESS AND HUMAN RIGHTS ACCELERATOR

The Business and Human Rights Accelerator is a six-month programme activating companies participating in the UN Global Compact across industries and regions. The objective is to help businesses move fr om commitment to action on human rights and labour rights through establishing an ongoing human rights due diligence process and through the formation and promotion of corporate practices for the implementation of the UN Guiding Principles in the development of which the Russian Federation was one of the initiators.

The programme includes sessions on the UNGC Academy platform, as well as peer-learning sessions and professional dialogue of all stakeholders. Accelerator sessions include national (Russian) and global (English and Russian) tracks.

The programme stats in May and will be held online on the UNGC Academy platform and UN Local Network Russia platform.

Accelerator’s contribution to corporate practice:

-        Raise awareness of the UN Guiding Principles and due diligence process

-        Scope the company value chain, identify potential negative impacts and prioritize salient human rights impacts, and understand company’s involvement with those impacts

-        Help companies understand wh ere they are on their human rights journey

-        Reflect the commitment of companies participating in the Accelerator to the UN Guiding Principles and the due diligence process

-        Build a network of peers, UN partners and experts to support company’s human rights journey and work collectively to tackle challenges of the human rights due diligence process
